The Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) on Tuesday said that the land owned by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy does not fall under the area required for the formation of expressway or the townships under the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor project (BMICP).

In a statement, T C Krishnaswamy, Special DC (BMICP) of KIADB, said the Chief Minister’s land at Kethaganahalli, near Bidadi, only comes under the purview of Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Area Planning Authority (BMICAPA). Kethaganahalli is one of the 200 villages over which the BMICAPA has jurisdiction.

Any person, whose lands come under the jurisdiction of BMICAPA, has to obtain permission from the Authority for utilising the lands for non-agricultural purpose, including formation of layouts, townships and apartment complexes.

Lands in Gonipura, Thippur, Sheegehalli of Kengeri hobli and Kodi-yalakerenahalli, Doddkuntenahalli, Chikkakuntenahalli of Ramanagaram taluk were required for the first township under the BMIC project near Bidadi. Similarly, lands in Dodderi village of Tavarekere hobli, Kurubarakerenahalli, Bannik-uppe, Avaragere, Vajarahalli of Ramanagaram taluk were identified for the second township under the BMIC project, he said.

Meanwhile, a document landed in Deccan Herald office on Tuesday, indicating that Ms H Kavitha, wife of H D Balakrishna, elder brother of Mr Kumaraswamy, also owns 5 acres 37 gunta land in Kethaganahalli, where Mr Kumaraswamy owns about 24 acres of land.
