KSRTC has been asked to maintain cleanliness on its premises, says official

BANGALORE: Health officials of the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) West Zone on Tuesday cleared two lorry loads of garbage that had accumulated on the premises of the KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) bus stand at Subashnagar here.

Following the publication of a photograph showing accumulation of garbage at the bus stand in The Hindu on Tuesday, BMP Health Officer (West Zone) Devaki Umesh inspected the spot along with other officials.

They found that the place was within the premises of the KSRTC.

"Although the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has to maintain cleanliness on their premises, we have got the garbage cleared. The garbage had accumulated over a long time. The BMP has issued a notice to the Divisional Controller of the KSRTC bus stand to get the premises cleaned regularly," Dr. Devaki said.
