BANGALORE: Friday seems to be set for a day of traffic congestion with large crowds expected at the swearing-in of new ministers at the Vidhana Soudha in the morning and the Art of Living silver jubilee celebrations at Jakkur airfield.

The city police have beefed up security at the Vidhana Soudha and Jakkur airfield and a few thousand policemen have been deployed at both venues. Police anticipate that a large number of party workers would assemble at the Vidhana Soudha for the swearing-in ceremony scheduled to take place at10.10 AM.

Though the police have not made placed any restrictions on movement of traffic, Ambedkar Veedhi is expected to be choc-a-bloc with BJP and JD (S) supporters from all over the State. Later in the day, Bellary road is slated to witness a large volume of traffic with several lakhs of people expected at the Art of Living celebrations at Jakkur.

Moreover, several VVIPs, including the visiting heads of foreign states, will also attend the function. The city police have already prohibited heavy traffic from entering the city through Bellary Road.

While the city police are busy with security arrangements for the two events, the Bangalore Rural police have drawn up adequate security for the Art of Living ashram near Harohalli on Kanakapura, which the delegates would visit.
