IT companies must leave Bangalore: Deve Gowda

IT cos must move out of city: Gowda
The Times of India

Bangalore: Take land away from software companies and turn them into housing sites: This is the new diktat given by JD(S) national president H.D. Deve Gowda to the Dharam Singh government.

With hardly a week to go for the coalition government’s first anniversary, Gowda has again raked up the previous Congress government’s “pre-occupation’’ with software and multinational companies.

He told reporters here on Saturday: “The government should take back the several acres of land allotted to software companies and make them available for housing sites.’’ Gowda’s formula: Software and other multinational companies should relocate to Mysore and Mangalore, besides his home district Hassan and the CM’s home district of Gulbarga. “All facilities can be provided for them there,’’ he stated.

Ridiculing the BDA’s decision to return deposit cheques from the public for Arkavathy Layout, Gowda asked: “People have been waiting for sites since nearly six years. If the BDA cannot form and distribute sites, what is it there for? What will the commissioner do now? Will they close down the BDA?’’

He also trained guns on violations of the Green Belt around Bangalore during the previous regime. “Just one foreign consortium has been given 3,500 acres of land. All of this must be recovered and given for housing sites. That is the need of the hour,’’ he maintained.

Time to send Gowda to a mental institutaion. How can this guy be so anti-IT, the very and may be the only industry every Indian is proud of? Hidden motive seems to be move things to Hassan and nearby areas where he and his gang has lots of land.

Gowda sounds emotional, but there is some truth behind it. IT companies benfitted people from outside karnataka and MNCS. Well educated middle class kannadigas are on the streets because the land price is so excessive and whatever the land is available is handed to MNCs, and theives in the name of spirittuality. Not to forget land swallowed by politicians.

There is no truth in saying in only non-Karnataka people benefited by IT companies. Other than direct employments created in Bangalore, it creates opportunities to other services which benefits to local people. Why do you think rest of the state governments racing to welcome IT companies to set up units in their cities providing best of the best facilities? Only Shri Deve Gowda thinks he is smarter. It's about votes and party family and money. Not the state. Does care nothing about state.
I don't think he is honest about allotting to sites people. Look at number of sites allotted to his family in Kumaraswami layout.
I think his people did not get sufficient cut in arkavathy, BMIC etc etc. Hence he is creating all sorts of problems. Not a single major project completed in Bangalore since this Govt. News is Mr. Gowda and Co. is trying stop/delay anything SM Krishna Co. started.
Bring back SM Krishna, I think he is much better than rest of the lot.

I'd agree that the everyone has befitted from the IT companies being around, that includes Kannadigas.
Its just that Gowda acting like a stupid d**khead with brains you know where. He thinks he is some kind of king maker just because he was once the PM. Hopefully this non-functioning government falls and we have a new set of people (who in all likelihood will be idiots too - albeit to a lesser degree).
