Sigma Grand Mall to open in Dec ‘06

The mall will be a four-in-one project having a tech park, four-star hotel, shopping centre and multiplex cinemas.



The Rs 450 crore Sigma Group on Friday said that its Rs 210 crore Sigma Grand Malls & Towers project, fast coming up near the outer ring road on Airport-Whitefield road, off Marathalli, would be ready by December 2006 or even earlier.

The four-in-one project, boasting of a Sigma Grand Tech Park, a shopping mall and 122-room hotel, besides four multiplexes from Fame Cinema of the Shringar Group, will come up on the 6.5 acre campus. The tech park built over 2,50,000 sq ft with an average floor-plate of 25,000 sq ft will be divided into two wings. The hotel will come up with one million sq ft area.

Briefing reporters here, Sigma Group Managing Director Harkirat Singh Bedi, said they have tied up with Carlson Group’s Country Inns & Suites Division for the management of the Rs 35 crore four-star luxury hotel which will come up at the complex.


Stating that Sigma Group was currently executing various projects worth over Rs 1,400 crore, Mr Bedi said the group expected its turnover to cross the Rs 1,000 crore by the end of 2008.

It had posted a turnover of Rs 260 crore in the fiscal year 2003-04, he said, pointing out that most of their projects have been funded through internal accruals.

Likewise, Mr Bedi said the Group’s Sigma Mall on Cunningham Road would be ready by July 2005.

Country Inns & Suites which has entered into tie-up with Sigma Group on franchisee basis, will be advising and managing the property, according to Carlson Group Country Development & Management Services Vice President Sanjeev Pawha.
