BANGALORE: Showers accompanied by hailstones and gusty winds on Saturday evening gave the much-needed relief to Bangaloreans from the heat wave. But it did disrupt traffic as 15 trees were uprooted. The mercury was rising in the city (around 37 degrees Celsius) during the past one week and this had become the talk of the town. Trees were uprooted at K.R. Circle, Jeevanbimanagar and Vijayanagar while trees or their branches fell on roads at many places in J.P. Nagar, Jayanagar and Banashankari, according to the fire services. There were reports of rain accompanied by hailstones in Shivajinagar, Ulsoor and Banashankari. Many areas went without power.
