It will soon be an easy access to Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) from West Bangalore. The BBMP is widening the Jalahalli-Yelahanka road which is scheduled for completion on Nov 11. BBMP Zonal Joint Commissioner M Virupaksha said, “This four-laned road will start from BEL circle to Kogilu junction (near Yelahanka) which will act as an effective connect to BIA from Mathikere, Yeshwanthpur, Vijayanagar and Peenya. Currently, west Bangaloreans reach airport through Mehkri Circle. With this new road, they can directly connect to the airport through M S Palya which is expected to effectively divide the traffic density.”
“Once the road is ready, it is expected to cut travel time by half. With the Nov 11 deadline fast approaching, BBMP men are working round-the-clock to meet the deadline,” said Virupaksha. The project is estimated at Rs 98 lakh which also include two underpasses at Doddaballapur road and Yelahanka railway station.
