About 45% of the piling (foundations of piers) work has been completed and the first pier is set to be cast. Most of the service road work is done. An NHAI official said work on five flyovers at different junctions beyond the expressway has also started.
The Tumkur Road project spans 19.5 km, with the elevated portion stretching for 4 km. The deadline is November 2009.
