There’s good news for commuters looking to travel to Devanahalli airport sans any road hassles.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Chief E Sreedharan made a presentation on the Detailed Project Report of the high speed rail link to Devanahalli to Governor on Saturday.
According to sources, a power-point presentation was made on the modalities of the project, such as, the investment model to be adopted and the time schedule for the completion of the Rs 3,900 crore project on a special purpose vehicle basis.
The DMRC that has prepared the DPR, suggested that the project be taken up on a priority basis at the earliest to offer speedy connectivity to the Devanahalli airport. The governor is also keen to begin the project as early as possible, the highly placed sources said.
Sreedharan has suggested that project be taken up either on an entirely government funded initiative or through a public-private-partnership on a build-own-transfer basis.
Sreedharan told Deccan Herald that the governor was satisfied with the presentation.
“The government has given a positive response. It is now for them to implement the project,” he added.
