Project update: BMRC

METRO RAIL
Testing for piers is complete


After barricading the entire stretch from Anil Kumble Circle to Trinity Church Junction, the Bangalore Metro Corporation Limited (BMRC) has put in place heavy duty drilling machines for piling work.
With testing for putting up piers completed, pits for them will be ready well before January. The authorities have completed shifting utility
lines on the entire alignment of Reach One and barricading for the entire alignment will begin by February.
The next activity for around 18 months will be forming piers, putting up pillars and placing the viaduct. Civil work for the entire Reach One between MG Road and Byappanahalli — stretching 7 km — will be over by early 2009.
At the casting yard, construction of a cement godown, erection of first batching plant and calibration of it is complete.
The construction of high compound walls for Isolation Hospital, 515 Army Base Workshop, MEG Centre on Old Madras Road and Manekshaw Parade Ground on MG Road has been completed.
Other developments
Final location survey for extended 26 kms completed by RITES.
National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi has conducted studies at Tipu Summer Palace and Fort and Kote Venkataramana Temple. Technical report on noise and vibration study near historic monuments received from the laboratory.
Traffic integration and traffic hubs to be developed in Byappanahalli, Mysore Road, Swastik, Peenya and Majestic. Seamless traffic integration being planned with BMTC, KSRTC, Mono Rail and Railways.
Good for construction drawings for pile foundation and for pre-cast girder RITES have given segment moulds for the entire length.
Tender for construction of stations at MG Road, Trinity Circle is ready; tenders for stations at Ulsoor and Old Madras floated; for CMH Road and Byappanahalli stations tenders will be floated by December.
