TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Bangalore: The high court has adjourned a PIL seeking a directive asking the authorities not to hold any ceremony on Vidhana Veedi, in front of Vi d h a n a Soudha.
Advocate A V Amarnathan filed this petition citing the example of the swearingin ceremony of B S Yeddyurappa as the CM on November 12. He claimed that there was a traffic pile-up on the road and the public and advocates were inconvenienced. The division Bench headed Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph, who heard the petition, asked the government advocate to respond to the issue on Tuesday.
Politics and T20?
The strange political drama and the floor test in the assembly were reasons for some humorous moments in the high court on Monday. Hearing a plea against oath-taking in front of Vidhana Soudha, a division Bench comprising Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph observed: “The political developments are more interesting than a T20 match. Let us see hear this petition tomorrow,” and adjourned the hearing.
In a related development, Shankar Munavalli, a KPCC member who sought a CBI inquiry against the formation of B S Yeddyurappa government has impleaded the former CM H D Kumaraswamy, BJP state president D V Sadananda Gowda, JD(S) state president Merajuddin Patel and MLAs who supported the government. The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
