Ulsoorgate subdivision ACP B B Ashok Kumar, after inspecting the spot, described the incident as an accident. It is unfortunate to see such a thing happening. No one can be blamed for this, he said.
The City police have concluded that Sunday’s death of six-year-old Ahan after he fell of the fourth floor of Garuda Mall, as an accident.
Though a case of unnatural death has been registered in connection with the accident, no one has been charged with negligence.
Ulsoorgate subdivision ACP B B Ashok Kumar, after inspecting the spot, described the incident as an accident. “It is unfortunate to see such a thing happening. No one can be blamed for this. However, parents sh-ould be extra-cautious about their children whenever they visit multi-storey buildings,” he said.
Garuda Mall MD B G Uday refuted allegations that the incident took place as the management had not taken precautionary measures to prevent such incidents. “We have taken all steps to avert such tragedies. There are 56 security guards in the mall to watch movements of visitors. Since the boy seemed to have held the escalator and tried to look down, he lost control and fell down,” he added.
