Expressway project on schedule
TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Bangalore: Exactly a year to go. And according to officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), there will be no delay in the completion of the Hosur Road expressway project.
The first launching gantry is ready and
you are likely to shortly see it lift up and fix pre-cast segments to create the superstructure of the expressway.
“The first span (the stretch between two piers) should be up by next week,’’ a NHAI official said. Two more gantries are expected to be ready by the end of August.
Block pushing for the Kudlu junction and Singasandra junction pedestrian underpasses is complete. The staircase and other internal works are on. The underpasses may be opened to the public in two months.
If there’s anything that continues to hamper the expressway work, it is the heavy traffic on the road.
“We have to be a lot more cautious on account of that,’’ says one of the project contractors.
The move to divert heavy vehicles from Hosur Road by upgrading the road connecting Attibele junction on Hosur Road with Sarjapur Road and Dommansandra remains incomplete. “The upgradation work seems to be over, but some inspections remain before heavy vehicles are diverted,’’ an official said.
