Volvo bus fares slashed
DH News Service, Bangalore:
The BMTC has decided to revert to the original fare structure for its Volvo buses plying in the City.

From Sunday, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will take the Volvo experience closer to the cross-sectional Bangalorean. The BMTC has decided to revert to the original fare structure for its Volvo buses plying in the City. The revised structure, that will come into effect from April 15, has Rs 10 as minimum passenger fare.

BMTC had earlier hiked the minimum fare from Rs 10 to Rs 12. The revision of the fare structure has come as part of a BMTC initiative to reach out further to the common man and make high-quality travelling experience more accessible for public, according to official sources. BMTC runs around 60 Volvos in the City, with the latest introduction coming in February, on three new routes.
