BANGALORE: The ‘Pen it Down to the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) Commissioner’ policy has gained momentum.
The department has received over 6,000 applications till date regarding allotment of sites. Officials from the BDA state that people have come forward and filed their applications regarding site allotment.
After submitting their written application to the BDA Commissioner, they are returning on the allotted date for further details.
The department also states that this mode of allotment is focussed for allotting sites in the Arkavathi Layout only because the BDA has not met the set target of disseminating 20,000 sites due to litigations.
“So far, only 9,000 sites have been allotted and the allotment of the rest awaits court orders. We have received many applications regarding the Arkavathi Layout and the general allotment category,” said the official.
“We have announced the site allotment and cut out details. According to the rules, any person who has made over six attempts and is above 50 years of age is eligible to apply by writing a letter to the BDA Commissioner with all the essential details enclosed within,” said a BDA official.
BDA Commissioner M K Shankarlinge Gowda told this paper that they have received hundreds of applications till date. The details regarding the allotment prospectus of the applicant are being verified and necessary steps are being executed as well.
“This mode of application is for the first category of allotments, where people were not given sites in 2004. The new set of allotment of sites and layouts will be announced only after the CDP master plan is next announced,” he added.
The BDA has been conducting regular auctions in the general allotment category. The next auction regarding the same will be conducted for HSR Layout on October 30 for the 10th layout and on 31st for the 11th layout.
These auctions are suitable for the purpose of site allotment in the general category, said a BDA official while elaborating on the allotment auctions.
