Get passports at BangaloreOne

Bangalore: Citizens can now apply for passports at BangaloreOne centres. The Regional Passport Office will launch the service in Malleswaram. It will be inaugurated by Union minister of state for external affairs E Ahamed on Monday in the presence of chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.

Passport services will initially be available at the following centres — Malleswaram (22955415/416), Vijayanagar (22955405/406), RT Nagar (22955425/426), Jayanagar (22955450/451) and Airport Road (22955440/ 441).

Filing applications at these centres will be at no extra service charge over and above the prescribed passport fees. The applications will be accepted from 9 am to 8 pm on all days including holidays.

Once the application is filed at these centre, it will be forwarded to the Passport Office within two working days. The police verification papers will be sent directly to the concerned police authorities. The applications will thereafter be physically sent to RPO Bangalore for further processing.

Now, application fees at these centres can be paid only through DDs/bankers cheques.

This facility will be available only for applicants residing in Bangalore (addresses falling under the jurisdiction of the commissioner of police, Bangalore or) Supdt. of Police, Bangalore Rural).

Direct tatkaal submission facility is not available at BangaloreOne centres. Applications submitted at these centres, can be converted to tatkaal, by producing the necessary urgency documents and paying the tatkaal fees at RPO Bangalore, once the file is registered.

BangaloreOne has plans to extend this service to their remaining nine centres and also plan to add other miscellaneous passport services soon.
