BMP earmarks debris collection spots in south zone

Dumping debris in storm water drains, footpaths and roads is a big menace in the city.

The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has so far collected Rs 2.02 lakh from building owners for dumping debris.

However, after a spree of imposing penalty on defaulters, the Bangalore Mahanagara Palikehas identified eight temporary debris collection points in the South zone.

Order

According to an order issued by Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Commissioner K Jairaj, persons caught dumping debris in places other than those earmarked by the Mahanagara Palike will be penalised and their vehicles confiscated.

The debris collection spots are :

*The plot between Railway line and road at Railway parallel road in Ward 34, Sangolli Rayanna Park in GKW Layout in Ward 35.

* CA sites in between 4th and 5th Cross roads of MRCR layout in ward 36, CA site in 3rd and 4th cross roads in Muneshwara block in ward 36, 8th cross road in Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) layout Nagarbhavi II block Ward 38.

*Park near Gangondanahalli main road Ward 39, land beside st-orm water drain at Hosakerehalli main road behind Kamakhya theatre Ward 55 A and Marenahalli tank bed in Ward 58.

The debris collections points will be identified even in the East and West zones in the city, sources in the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike said
