BANGALORE: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will submit its proposal for the development of public transport as per the Jawaharlal Nehru-National Urban Renewal Mission.

As part of the citizen consultation programme, the BMTC will elicit suggestions from commuters and submit them to the Commuter Advisory and Facilitation Committee.

A consultation programme will be chalked out with the help of Consumer organisations, NGOs, resident welfare organisations, senior citizens, women organisations and experts in the field.

The suggestions received will be collated and a report will be submitted to Managing Director Upendra Tripathy.

Bangalore city is divided into five zones for this purpose and each will be coordinated by a member. The Central Government has launched a new scheme known as Jawaharlal Nehru-National Urban Mission where 63 cities have been selected for development of infrastructure.
