BANGALORE: That Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy means business with a capital `B' was made amply clear when he reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that Bangalore in particular and Karnataka in general remained Destination Number 1 for investors in the country.

Speaking to reporters after the Ganesha homa at his home-office `Krishna' here on Sunday, Kumaraswamy said the coalition would back the IT and BT sectors to the hilt by bridging the gap between the government and the private sector.

“Doubts have been raised on the previous government's commitment to the IT and allied sectors. But I would like to send a loud and clear signal to the business community that this government will do everything to ensure the State's economy get a boost by creating an investor-friendly atmosphere,” he said.

On the persistent infrastructure problems, Kumaraswamy said he would convene a meeting of civic heads shortly besides holding another meeting with IT honchos and business leaders to discuss the issue in the next few days.

He denied suggestions that inexperience would affect his providing a good and effective administration. “Inexperience is my strength. It will help me keep an open mind on all issues,” he said.
