Civic works begin at HSR Layout

Civic works begin at HSR Layout
The Times of India

Bangalore: When downpour lashed Bangalore turning it into a cesspool last October, the residents of HSR Layout were stranded in inundated areas for more than a week.
After a brainstorming session with the government, the civic authorities chalked out works to be undertaken in rain-battered areas. The BDA has finally started work in HSR Layout, and according to the requirements of the area, nearly 42 works at a cost of Rs 39 crore has been mooted. The biggest eyesore in HSR Layout is the nala flowing adjacent to the flyover at the Central Silk Board junction. The choked nala overflows frequently. The BDA has taken up massive desilting of nala and its subsidiary drainage network. “We never imagined that this would be the plight in a BDA-formed layout,’’ said Ramakrishna Naidu, a resident.
The BDA has set a deadline of March 31 for the completion of works.
