The doubling of the Bangalore-Mysore railway line beyond Ramanagaram (towards Mysore) project is awaiting the Karnataka government’s re-confirmation of its commitment to share 50 per cent of the cost burden, Mr T N Perti, General Manager, South Western Railway, said on Friday. Responding to media queries in Bangalore, Mr Perti said the lane doubling work between Bangalore and Ramanagaram is likely to be completed during the next financial year, he said.

The cost of the work on the said stretch is shared one-third (SWR): two-third (State government) and most of the work is ready, he said. He underlined that the SWR has carried on with the work despite the State government being slow to release its share of the funds. Only Rs 8 crore of the Rs 59 crore due from the State government has been received as on date, he said.
