BANGALORE: Indiranagar is considered one among posh localities in the City, but roads here tell one a totally different story.

Residents have been putting up with bad roads and overflowing sewage and garbage for months. Traffic jams are common on the Double Road and residents and welfare associations in are now in despair as no action has been taken by the authorities on their pleas.

“We made several representations to the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) and MP and MLAs of the area but no action has been on them so far. They didn’t even reply to our complaints.

“Several manholes have broken and are causing accidents. There are no manholes at all in the 13th Cross and also at the 17th B Cross of Indiranagar II Stage,” said Siddaiah G, Secretary of Indiranagar Welfare Association.

“Drains along the roads were not cleared after the recent rains. The filth in the drains caused flooding and damaged the roads. During rains, we made repeated calls to the authorities but no one came to our rescue,” he added.

“How do we take our vehicles on these roads?

“There is no hope that these roads will ever see fresh asphalt,” said Rahul kumar, a resident.
