'Gowda, hindrance to Karnataka's progress'

WHAT POLITICAL LEADERS SAY...
The Times of India

Was Murthy right in resigning? While Deve Gowda’s son H D Kumaraswamy naturally supports his father, BJP leader Ananth Kumar and KPCC chief Mallikarjun Kharge bat for Murthy.

We want him back

Murthy cannot put in his papers because of outbursts by some person. My personal view is Murthy is an internationally recognised person. It is not that Bangalore became noted on account of Murthy, but he contributed his mite to development. He should reconsider his resignation and I will also request chief minister N Dharam Singh to persuade him to do so.’’ — KPCC president Mallikarjun M Kharge.

Gowda, hindrance to progress

It is very unfortunate that Murthy has resigned. He is the icon of Indian entrepreneurship and has lent credibility to the much-awaited international airport. His resignation is because of the recent harpings of Gowda, who despite being former PM and CM, is proving to be a hindrance to Karnataka’s progress. Gowda is against good governance, reforms, development and progress and because of him, the international airport got delayed, as he created a controversy over the location. I urge Murthy to reconsider his decision.’’ — BJP national general secretary Ananth Kumar
