Bangalore: “Ayyo Shivane! (O Lord!) What have I done for him (N R Narayana Murthy) to resign?’’

That’s how former PM H D Deve Gowda is reported to have reacted when told about Murthy’s resignation. Resting at home due to a throat infection, he merely said, “I’ve lots to say and will speak on Saturday.’’

Sources close to him said Gowda suspected Maharashtra governor S M Krishna’s hand behind the resignation. “He (Krishna) took out Panchajanya Yatra as KPCC chief; now, let him start a Sudarshana Chakra Yatra from Mumbai. We’ll teach him a proper lesson this time,’’ he reportedly said
