'Doesn't Gowda have anything better to do?'

Karnad: Doesn’t Gowda have anything better to do?

Narayana Murthy has done what any honourable citizen would have done. I side Narayana Murthy entirely. In fact, if I were in his place I would have done the same. Deve Gowda is the former Prime Minister, does he have nothing to do other than go on making these statements meant to hurt well-meaning citizens?
On PPP: How can anyone criticise the concept of public-private partnership? It has become a model simply because someone is doing what the government has failed to do. But if people who are supposed to do their duty don’t do it, what are citizens supposed to do? There’s no point throwing a challenge when you can’t rise to it.
— Jnanpith awardee Girish Karnad.

He knows what’s good for city

Someone so principled would have made a wonderful option. He has lived in the city almost all his life and he definitely knows what’s good for the city’s infrastructure. It must be kept in mind that not only has he made a name for himself in Bangalore, but across the country and the world. I can only say that for someone of his stature, the BIAL will miss him.’’ — Spinner Anil Kumble

Murthy gave it a big push, says BIAL

This is extremely unfortunate. I deeply regret that such an incident has taken place. Our chairman has been very supportive of the project and done all anybody could to take it forward in the last five years. It is definitely not true that he did not push it. I will try my best to persuade him to take back his resignation. The project’s progress, however, will not be affected.
— BIAL CEO Albert Brunner
