Namma Metro works may get delayed further

Namma Metro works may get delayed further
Bangalore, dhns:
The Lok Adalat verdict may affect the Metro Rail Project as the Bangalore Metro Rail Company Limited has identified around 10,000 trees to cut.

As per the verdict, the firm has to seek the Adalat’s permission before felling these trees.
Already the BMRCL had axed around 1,800 trees in the city. The company, however, claimed that it had planted 15,000 trees and their mortality is also very less.
The BMRCL too believed that it will also have to seek permission from the tree authority, quasi judicial empowered committee and now the Lok Adalat.
However, the BMRCL is confident that its work will not halt. “The work might get delayed but it will not halt. We will seek Lok Adalat’s permission through the BBMP for felling tree,” said Yeshvanth Chavan, Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) of the BMRCL.
