Sunday showers spoil shopping spree in City

BANGALORE: Many parts of the city experienced intermittent showers on Sunday.
Motorists' thanked the Sunday traffic as not many roads were crowded.
However, traffic was thrown out of gear in the central parts of the city where shoppers thronged to finish their weekend shopping.
The afternoon heat was cooled by the rain, to the delight of people.
According to the BBMP officials, apart from a tree fall on East Main Road, no other rain-related complaints were reported.
The downpour continued late into the evening and sent many a shopper hurrying back to their homes.
According to Met officials, Bangalore city recorded 5.3 mm of rainfall while HAL Airport recorded 1.8 mm of rainfall and rains were scanty in Yelahanka.
The weather will be generally cloudy and rain or thunder showers are likely in the next 24 hours, says the Met department.
