Minister reviews works in progress

Transport Minister R Ashok, who is in charge of Bangalore-South district, met officials of all the civic agencies on Thursday and reviewed the progress of works.


The minister instructed Bangalore Development Authority to complete the project report for the southern loop of the Peripheral Ring Road. He asked BDA to notify land acquisition for PRR and float global tenders by October so that work can commence from January.

Ashok asked Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palike and BDA to take up development works on 17 lakes that have been transferred from the Lake Development Authority to BDA. He said that he would take up with the government transfer of all lakes in BDA jurisdiction to civic agencies. He also asked BBMP to install GPS tracking device to all the garbage trucks.

The minister asked Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board to fix all the existing tubewells in the newly added areas to Palike and to drill more tubewells. MLAs Satish Reddy, Narayanaswamy, B N Vijaykumar and Dr Hemachandra Sagar were present in the meeting.
