HC lambasts BBMP over hoardings

Bangalore: The high court on Tuesday took the BBMP to task over the issue of hoardings erected within city limits without a tendering process.
“How can a senior citizen walk on these skywalks? You are acting like a greedy corporation. You just want advertisements and money. Wherever you find four roads coming together, you put up big hoardings. Which law permits that? You have not spared a thought for vehicle users and the distraction hoardings cause. Some of them are loosely tied, creating a danger of falling,” Justice Rammohan Reddy strongly observed before adjourning the hearing of a case involving two advertisers.
