2.5 acres for Rajkumar memorial

BANGALORE: Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Thursday said the State Government had sanctioned 2.5 acres at Sri Kanteerava Studios in Bangalore for the Rajkumar memorial.

Speaking after inaugurating the renovated building of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) here, Mr. Yeddyurappa said the Cabinet had taken a decision in this regard on Thursday.

The Government had already released Rs. 6 crore for an auditorium, museum and creating other facilities at the memorial.

An additional Rs. 4 crore would be released shortly, and work would commence in a few days, he added.

A committee, headed by the Chief Minister, would monitor the progress of work at the memorial.

The value of the land sanctioned is estimated at Rs. 16 crore.
