Roads kick up dust...

Roads kick up dust...
Bangalore, DHNS:

The reckless sanctioning for construction of apartments, congested roads and bad approach roads have made the lives of residents miserable. Are the authorities listening? Here are a few responses to Deccan Herald’s ‘Show Your Road Rage’ campaign.

Wake up to bad roads

I don't think the residential areas have good roads. What surprises me is how can BBMP allow thick development without estimating its effect on roads.

What leaves me clueless is the mushrooming of two-storeyed apartments on two-lane roads. This kind of an unplanned sanctioning only leads to chaos when these roads are approached during peak hours.
As these problems are not addressed, it is up to the road users to raise their concerns.

People in Bangalore are either scared or tolerant as they are not alerting the government, which has turned complacent. It is high time the government looks into improving roads so the traffic chaos can be avoided.

Muddy roads

All roads in Devarachikkanahalli, Bommanahalli are bad. Though the private contractors asphalt the roads often, they return to their old condition due to sub-standard work. Moreover, residents will be happy if the corporator acts immediately. Vehicles always get stuck in the mud and the area is filled with dust. All these are detrimental to the environment.

Commuting a misery

The approach road to Kristu Jayanti College (en route to Narayanapura village) from Hennur Main Road is in a pathetic condition. A few months back, asphalting work started and stopped mid-way making it all the more difficult to travel. Even the main entry point to this route was blocked owing to some reason, thereby making it difficult for the people to locate the place.

Though several requests have been made to the BDA to look into the bad condition of roads, the BDA has turned a blind eye.
