BANGALORE: Pro-Kannada organisations on Saturday decided to boycott Tamil movies starring superstar Rajanikanth and not to allow screening of his movies in Karnataka.
Speaking to this website's newspaper, Akhila Karnataka Gadi Horata Samithi President Vatal Nagaraj said that they will not allow screening of Rajanikanth movies in Karnataka and also not allow him enter the State. ''Rajani does not belong to Karantaka as he is a Marathi. But it is Karnataka that gave him shelter earlier,'' he added.
The Kannada protagonist outfits even burnt his effigy, demanded an unconditonal apology and declared boycott of his film. Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) activists burnt the effigy of Rajanikanth at the Mysore Bank Circle. While some KRV activists held 'Rasta Roko' on Tumkur road protesting against Rajani's remarks on Kananda organisations.
Rajanikanth had blamed pro-Kannada outfits for creating the crisis and even called for nipping the protests in the bud while participating in a dharna staged by the Tamil film industry in Chennai on Friday.
