Marathahalli overbridge thrown open to traffic

BANGALORE: Commuters to Whitefield, ITPL and K.R. Puram can heave a sigh of relief following the opening of railway overbridge near Marathahalli on Airport Road that connects Kundalahally and Airport Road. After delays following change in plan and design of the overbridge, the traffic on this section was affected putting commuters to inconvenience.

The movement of traffic was allowed on the overbridge, constructed at a cost of Rs. 14.3 crore, on a trial basis from Monday.

Work on the project was taken up jointly by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) and the South Western Railways, and the work had commenced in June 2006, according to a press release.
