Metro Rail: Parking curbs from Aug 10

The movement and parking of all kinds of vehicles and taking left and right turns on the following junctions and roads will be banned from August 10 midnight. This is in view of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation taking up second phase of works from Cauvery Emporium to Trinity Circle on MG Road, states a release from Police Commissioner N Achutha Rao.

* Parking of all kinds of vehicles from Cauvery Emporium to Trinity Circle on MG Road to be banned.

* One-way traffic on Commissariat Road, between MG Road and Residency Road at Mayo Hall Junction, to be converted into two-way.

*Taking ‘U’ turn in front of Citibank on MG Road to reach Viveknagar, other areas to be banned. Buses can take a right turn at Mayo Hall junction and can reach Viveknagar and other areas via Commissariat Road.

* Buses from Halasur to Kempegowda bus stand (via MG Road) must take a left turn at Trinity Circle, reach destination via Richmond Road, Hosmat junction and Ashoknagar signal (Vellara Junction).

* Buses from Halasur to Shivajinagar bus stand (via MG Road) must take a right turn at Trinity Circle to reach Kensington Road. They must take a left turn at Gangadhar Chetty Road to join Dhobi Ghat Road, turn left to reach Wengalray Junction, turn right there and turn left on Kamaraj Road to reach Shivajinagar via Cubbon Road and Kamaraj Road Junction.

* Buses from Viveknagar and other areas to Shivajinagar bus stand must take a right turn at Ashirvadam Junction and reach Museum Road and SBI Junction, turn right and use St Mark’s Road, Anil Kumble Circle and BRV Circle to reach destination.

* Buses from Airport to Shivajinagar to reach Kensington Road using Trinity Circle, turn left at Gangadhar Chetty Road to reach Dobi Ghat Road, turn left to reach Wengalray Junction, turn left at Kamaraj Road to reach Shivajinagar bus stand via Cubbon Road.

* Buses from Shivajinagar to Jayanagar to use MG Statue Circle (MG Road), to take right turn to reach Siddalingaiah Junction via Kasturba Road, turn left to go to RRMR Road via Vittal Mallya Road, turn left and use Richmond Circle to reach Lalbagh Road.

NO ALTERNATIVE
Police have not identified alternative location to park vehicles from Cauvery Emporium to Trinity Circle on MG Road.

“It is basically a problem related to infrastructure. There is no space available on the road to provide parking facilities. But the police will consider other options and try to come out with some alternative arrangements soon,” DCP (East Traffic) Madhukar Shetty said.
