Narayana Netralaya opens second hospital

The hospital, which plans to conduct 50,000 cataract surgeries a year, is a 1,20,000 sq ft facility with 300 beds and 12 operation theatres, equipped to provide speciality care in all dimensions of opthamology.

The number of healthcare institutions in the country, both in the public and private sector, and the quality of service in many healthcare institutions are inadequate, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram has said.
He was speaking after inaugurating the second hospital of Narayana Netralaya at Narayana Health City Campus on Thursday.
The hospital, which plans to conduct 50,000 cataract surgeries a year, is a 1,20,000 sq ft facility with 300 beds and 12 operation theatres, equipped to provide speciality care in all dimensions of opthamology.
Narayana Health City Chairman Dr Devi Shetty said the Narayana Health City, in association with the State Bank of India and a private insurance firm, will come out with an insurance scheme under which those making a fixed deposit of Rs 7,500, will get medical cover
