Bangalore going in circles!

Bangalore going in circles!
Bangalore: The city’s road map is all set to change. Bangalore will be the first city in the country to have six concentric ring roads: Inner Core Ring Road (ICRR), Outer Ring Road (ORR), Peripheral Ring Road (PRR), Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR), the peripheral road as part of BMIC, and now another — the Intermediate Ring Road (IRR). While two projects have already been implemented, four are in the pipeline for which project reports have been drawn up and government sanctions obtained.
What the city has and what it will get
Outer Ring Road: 64 km; built at a cost of over Rs 180 crore by BDA, connects Mysore Road-Hosur Road-Tumkur Road-Bellary Road. Though mooted as an Outer Ring Road to divert traffic flowing through the city’s central roads, this corridor is now a part of Bangalore.
Peripheral Road: Constructed by NICE as a part of the BMIC project, this toll road connects Tumkur Road and Hosur Road via Mysore Road and Kanakapura Road. Cost for 41-km stretch is Rs 750 crore. Peripheral Ring Road: Being planned by BDA, this 116-km stretch connects Mysore-Hosur-Tumkur-Bellary roads. Mooted at a cost of Rs 3,600 crore which needs 3,500-odd acres of land, this road will be anywhere between 6-12 km away from the city.
Inner Core Ring Road: Proposed by BBMP, this 30-km elevated road is estimated to cost Rs 60 crore per km. It’ll slice through the heart of the city central business district; a six-lane signal-free carriageway, it cuts through 51 junctions. Access-controlled toll road at a cost of Rs 1,800 crore.
Satellite Town Ring Roads: Will be 283 km, connecting peripheral towns of Dobbspet, Magadi, Ramanagaram, Kanakapura, Anekal, Attibele, Sarjapur, Hoskote, Devanahalli and Doddaballapur.
