Parking proves slip-pery

Parking proves slip-pery
Deccan Herald

If you decide to just shove your parking slip in your pocket without reading it carefully, chances are you may not get your bike back!

The next time you are at the Bangalore City Railway Station with a two-wheeler, make sure you take a long, hard look at the counterfoil of your parking slip. Because, if you decide to just shove it in your pocket without reading it carefully, chances are you may not get your bike back!

And that was precisely what happened to one Mr Khan, who returned to the parking lot of the station only to see that his bike was missing.

On asking the parking attendant about it, he got yelled at instead. When he persisted, he was asked to show the counterfoil of the slip. When he fished out the slip (even the part that the attendant was supposed to stick to the vehicle), it was found to bear two different numbers (053225 and 053215). To be sure, the attendant refused to entertain his requests.

The hapless Khan then turned to the police, though the latter, for some reason, seemed not to be in a mood to help. But eventually they came round and, after a few minutes, Mr Khan's vehicle was ‘brought’ by a boy from another corner.
