`Suvarna Khata' working well: BMP

Bangalore: The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) has claimed that the Suvarna Khata scheme, under which property owners would be issued khata within 30 days, has been successful. In a press release on Wednesday, the BMP has said that 7,355 applications had been disposed between November 6 and December 30.

A total of 8.753 applications were received at 30 offices of Assistant Revenue Officers, out of which 1,388 applications are pending.

These applications will be disposed in the next 30 days, says the BMP.

The BMP has said that it had opened a single window for this purpose and its staff had been given training to receive applications.

The BMP had started Suvarna Khata scheme as a measure to reduce corruption and speed up the process of issuing khata.
