Minister for Forest and Environment C Chennigappa on Tuesday said the government would crack down on apartment complex developers who violated norms while building on lake-beds.

Responding to media queries on the pollution of lakes by sewage let loose into them from apartment complexes, he said the government would see to it that the BMP or the BDA sanctioned the final plan only after due clearance was got from the pollution control board, the KPTCL and the revenue authorities.

The matter will be taken up with the chief minister, the minister said.
