After a brief lull, the war of words is again threatening to erupt between the government and Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE), in-charge of implementation of the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (BMIC) project.

Such a speculation has arisen following a letter sent by Revenue Secretary S M Jamdar addressed to deputy commissioners of Bangalore (Rural), Mandya and Mysore and Special DC, Bangalore, in which he has sought details regarding the transfer of 7,000 acres of land to NICE on lease for the BMIC project.

The letter, dated September 5, also seeks details regarding handing over of tank bed lands to NICE while the High Court order banning such transfers was in force.


The letter instructed the DCs to “give the details of the transferred lands within one week without fail to be submitted before the Patel Commission of Inquiry”.
