BANGALORE: To make Volvo bus services affordable to all its commuters, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has reduced fares of Volvo buses by 20 per cent during non-peak hours from August 25.

According to the new fares, the Volvo bus fares during non-peak hours i.e. from 11 am to 4 pm, will be 20 per cent lesser than that of peak hour fares.

”If the fare is Rs 15 during peak hours, then it would become Rs 12 during non peak hours. Likewise, Rs 25 would become Rs 20,” said Chief Traffic Manager of BMTC in a release.

Further, he said that the introduction of peak and non-peak hour charges would act as an incentive to people to undertake travel in ultra modern, air conditioned Volvo bus of BMTC.
