BANGALORE: Residents of Rajajinagar and Magadi Road on Tuesday said the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) and the police officials are not looking into their complaints of lack of civic amenities.

“There is an illegal foundry actively operating in Rajajinagar. We have lodged many complaints with the jurisdictional police station but no action has been taken till date”, said Rekhakumari, Rajajinagar resident.

“Parts of Magadi Road is in complete darkness as there are no proper street lights or street poles erected. The commuters face difficulties especially during monsoons as the roads are also in bad conditions” says a Deepak K N, a resident of Magadi Road.

“The increasing traffic congestion is a major setback to the residents whose houses are near the main road and grade separator. There should be adequate road dividers and gaps between them to maintain the traffic,” adds another resident.

Residents have lodged many complaints against the increasing eve teasing problems and the noise and also air pollution caused by heavy duty vehicles commuting in residential areas during the night.

Rajajinagar MLA N L Narendra Babu, who visited these areas on Tuesday said he will take it up with the authorities concerned. “I will speak to Bangalore Mahanagar Palike (BMP) Commissioner K Jairaj and urge him to speed up the work of the underpass to ease the traffic congestion”. Narendra Babu was accompanied by officials from Police, Public Works Department (PWD) and Bangalore Mahanagar Palike.
