BANGALORE: The Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) is all set to take action against violation of building bylaws in posh Sadashivanagar. The civic body has submitted a detailed report to the High Court and says it will take action based on the court’s directions.

Sadashivanagar Welfare Association approached the High Court complaining that a number of buildings in the area deviate from building bylaws. On the HC’s directions, BMP did a survey and found that around 130 houses violate norms.

“Action will be taken against building owners as per HC directions. The Court decision might come by next week,” said a BMP official.

Since the last two months, the BMP had conducted a survey in Sadashivnagar, RMV Extension and Upper Palace Orchards. The survey team inspected nearly 1,500 houses out of which 130 houses were found violating building norms.

Interestingly, the Welfare Association, in its letter to the BMP, had said 70 buildings are violating norms. But, the detailed survey puts more than 130 houses on the list. “Buildings violating norms is increasing every day,” he said.

Earlier, following High Court directions, the BMP had done a similar survey in Koramangala and identified violations of building bylaws.
