BANGALORE: The Karnataka government is determined to initiate legal proceedings against the BMICP promoter Nandi Infrastructure corridor Enterprise (NICE) for throwing open a stretch of the peripheral road coming under the project in violation of the Frame work agreement.
According to Principal Secretary of the Public works Department PB Mahishi, the NICE company, despite a notice from the government asking it not to go ahead with the opening of the road, had indulged in "soft opening" of the road.
As per the frame work agreement, on completion of the road work, the developer (NICE) had failed to seek technical clearance before opening the road for traffic.
Mahishi stated that the government did not want to take any hasty decision on the issue instead it would examine all legal aspects before initiating legal action against NICE for the violation of the Frame work agreement.
Meanwhile, sources maintained that the Frame work agreement was a secret document as such the details cannot be revealed and it does not come under the purview of the Right to information Act.
