DCP assures effective traffic supervision

Good news for Indiranagar residents. At least two more Sub-Inspectors, 6 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 10 Head constables and 10 constables will be deployed for effective traffic supervision, announced DCP (Traffic) M A Saleem on Monday.

At an interactive session with the residents of Indiranagar, for a change the government official tactfully manoeuvred all questions with regard to traffic problems and safety measures.

Mr Saleem emphasised “pedestrian safety is our paramount concern and we welcome queries and suggestions from citizens, as this will help us to chalk out a plan of action. Many senior citizens came out with innovative ideas and suggestions to curb traffic jam, and parking problems.

Few senior citizens requested the officer to direct the BMP not to sanction more than one front gate to bungalows, as more gates restricted vehicle movement to a large extent. No parking boards are displayed in front of the gate and vehicles are forced to move on to by-lanes in search of parking, they explained. And the net result, pedestrian movement is restricted.
