State govt vows support to airport project

Bangalore: The new coalition government e x - pressed its formal support to the Bang a l o re International Airport (BIA) project and asked the BIAL to complete the construction ahead of the Hyderabad International Airport.
Giving a completion date of January, 2008, deputy CM B S Yediyurappa, who holds the infrastructure portfolio, told BIAL CEO Albert Brunner: “Keep the requirements of the next 50 years in mind. We will give all possible support for the project and the airport’s proposed expansion.’’

Yediyurappa also assured Brunner that the appointment of a chairman to BIAL would be done soon, in consultation with CM H D Kumaraswamy, a release said.
