Bangalore: Just as the mercury started scaling new highs in the past fortnight breaching the 30-degrees mark, Bangalore received surprise showers late on Friday.
The rain started with a hint of drizzle around 8 pm. By 11 pm, it was raining in full gusto. The Met department confirmed it recorded rainfall at 8.30 pm and 11 pm.
The areas that received rain were Domlur, Indiranagar, Lalbagh, Shantinagar, Jayanagar, Banashankari, JP Nagar, Siddapur, Rajajinagar and Cantonment.
