In the run up to the State budget, the Urban Development Department on Friday briefed Chief Minister H D Kumaaraswamy on some of the projects that it plans to slot under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission.

The State government’s contribution to the projects to be taken up under the JN-NURM is 15 per cent.

The centre and the local body or civic agency will pitch in the remaining in the ratio of 35 to 50 per cent respectively. Since the Union Budget presented last week has already made some allocation for JN-NURM, the chief minister was urged to impress the Centre to expedite the proposals submitted by the State, official sources said.

No assurance

It is learnt that the chief minister did not give any assurance.

The projects presented to the chief minister on Friday mostly relate to the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike and the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board, sources said. According to BMP Additional Commissioner Gaurav Gupta, the BMP’s presentation to the chief minister included the Storm Water Drain re-modelling projects and the Inner Core Ring Road project.

BWSSB sources noted that the Greater Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Project and the Cauvery Stage IV Phase II were among their presentations.
