Members of Hasiru Usiru, a group formed to monitor and prevent indiscriminate cutting of trees in the City, under the aegis of Environment Support Group, wrapped cut-outs on 120 trees on the stretch from K R Circle towards Anand Rao circle to emphasise that trees are to be protected, reports DHNS from Bangalore.

A press release issued by Hasiru Usiru said that the cut-outs in the form of protective arms encircling the trees were put around these trees as they are likely to face the axe to make way for the proposed flyover at K R Circle.

Hasiru Usiru also plans to stick a message which says that trees are protected as per an order passed by the Karnataka High Court in response to a public interest litigation filed by the ESG. Earlier, members of the group wrapped cut-outs on 40 trees along a section of Seshadri Road.

The Environment Support Group has been campaigning that Hasiru Usiru needs to be given an opportunity to inspect as per the court order, before a decision is made to cut trees.
