Panel to study Metro route alignment

Bangalore: The Karnataka government has appointed a three-member-panel headed by Justice Shivashankar Bhatt to look into demands raised by CMH Road residents to change the route alignment of the Bangalore Metro Rail Project.
BMRC managing director K N Srivatsa said the panel will examine the feasibility of the route alignment on CMH Road and Old Madras Road, following demands raised by CMH Road residents and traders’ associations.

The panel, comprising Public Affairs Centre chairman Samuel Paul and UVCE retired head of civil engineering department professor Justo, has been asked to submit the report within two months to the government. The panel will hold public hearings to elicit the opinions of all parties involved. The report’s recommendations will be accepted and implemented by the government, Srivastava added.
